2-Person Team Relay- Start Time:  7:00am

If 10 miles seems too daunting of a task to go after alone, grab your running buddy and take on the Baltimore 10-Miler as a two-Person Team Relay on Saturday, June 3, 2023!

We have added a Team Relay to the Baltimore 10-Miler festivities!! Running the same scenic course as the 10-Miler, the Team Relay will consist of two participants, both running five miles. Each team member will receive the same premium item as the individual 10-Miler runners and earn a relay specific finisher’s medal.  The relay runs simultaneously with the individual 10-miler participants with the Leg 1 runner starting at 7:00am.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Each Runner Does a 5-Mile Leg

RUN THE TEAM RELAY & BE BFD ELIGIBLE

And to add to the incentive and excitement, the Team Relay will also be part of the BFD Challenge. If you participate in any event distance in each of 1) the Delaware Running Festival 2) Frederick Running Festival and 3) Baltimore 10-Miler, you will earn an extra Big Freakin’ medal to add to your collection. That’s four medals for doing three races over six weeks this Spring.

Races include the full, half, 4-person relay or 5k in Delaware on April 21; the half, 2-person relay or 5k in Frederick on May 4 & May 5 or the 10-miler or 2-person relay at the Baltimore 10-Miler on June 1.

RELAY LOGISTICS

The first member of the team will start with the individual runners at Druid Hill Park and run to Mile 5  The second runner will take a bus to The Mile 5 Mark and the handoff will happen there. Leg 1 runners will be bused back to Druid Hill Park after their leg and join their teammate at the finish.

All buses leave from Druid Hill Park from the corner of Swann Dr. and Beechwood Dr. at 6:45am. Runners may provide their own transportation/carpool to their exchange point but be aware there is NO PARKING at the exchange site and throughout the course.

BUSES WILL LEAVE PROMPTLY AT THE POSTED TIME. ALL BUSES LEAVE AT ONCE AT 6:45AM. IF YOU MISS THIS BUS, YOU WILL HAVE TO FIND YOUR OWN MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION TO THE EXCHANGE. DO NOT MISS THE BUS!!!

Buses will bring runners back from the exchange point and will drop runners off at the corner of Swann Rd. and Beechwood Dr.  Runners of Leg #1 will access the Runner Only Compound through the blue tent.  This is a short walk from the bus drop off. (Runners of Leg #2 will access the Runners Only Compound as they cross the finish line)
